Lessons are tailored to each student's age, goals, interests, and learning pace, while following a structured curriculum designed to develop strong musicianship, technique, and artistic expression.
1. Early Childhood (Preschool)
First Adventures for the Piano (or equivalent preschool piano methods) combined with music games and activities to develop fundamental musical skills and understanding.
2. Beginner Level
Repertoire : Beyer or Piano Adventures or Piano Academia or other beginner method books / Children's song collections and/or simplified popular music arrangements introduced from Beyer Book 3 onward
Theory: Note names, note values, rhythm, time signatures, dynamics, and other basic music concepts.
3. Elementary Level
Repertoire: Czerny 100 / Easy pieces(popular, classical, OSTs, etc.) / Accompaniment repertoire / Hanon (optional)
Theory: Compound rhythms, key signatures, triads, and basic musical forms and structure.
Repertoire: Czerny 30 / Scales & Arpeggios (major keys first, followed by minor keys) / Classical character pieces, beginning with easier Romantic works and gradually expanding to Classical, Baroque, and 20th-century repertoire
Examples: Chopin Waltz in A minor, Cantabile, Grieg's Lyric Pieces, Schumann's Kinderszenen, Burgmüller Etudes, Sonatinas, Bach Inventions, Kabalevsky's pieces etc.
Theory: Major and minor scales, seventh chords, and chord inversions.
Repertoire: Czerny 40 or technical studies (Pischna, Mikrokosmos, Brahms, Liszt, etc.) / Scales & Arpeggios (memorization and speed development) / Longer and more substantial works
Examples: Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, Scarlatti sonatas, Beethoven Variations, Mozart and Haydn Sonatas, Chopin Waltzes, Nocturnes, Impromptus, Polonaises, Mazurkas, Schubert Impromptus, Debussy Arabesque etc.
Theory: Interval calculation, harmonic analysis, and introduction to music history
*Students who reach this stage develop the technical and musical foundation needed to enjoy piano as a lifelong pursuit.
6. Pre-Professional Level
Repertoire: Major works spanning the Baroque through the 20th century, including standard conservatory repertoire and concert etudes.
(includes works by Bach, Scarlatti, Rameau, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt, Brahms, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Bartók, Poulenc, Ginastera, Barber, Ligeti, and other major composers from the Baroque to the contemporary period.)
Theory: Advanced harmonic analysis, formal analysis, structural analysis, music history, , and music aesthetics.
7. Competition Preparation
Competition repertoire is selected according to each student's age, level, interests, and goals, with lessons focused intensively on competition preparation.
*Please note:
-Regular curriculum lessons are suspended during competition preparation.
-Competition repertoire is generally selected from works approximately one level above the student's current level.
